Luncheon & Garden Tour at Inn at Little Washington

In April, the Culpeper Garden Club members enjoyed a luncheon at the Inn at Little Washington’s Patty O’s Cafe and a guided tour of the public and private gardens on the Inn’s extensive grounds.

The food and fellowship at Patty O’s was delightful, the gardens were in full spring bloom and the weather was perfect.

Joneve, head gardener and farmer-in-residence, along with grounds manager, Michael, were wonderful ambassadors for the Inn’s public gardens and the small, private courtyard gardens normally reserved for the exclusive use of cottage guests. They patiently fielded question after question and their collective knowledge was quite impressive.

At the conclusion of the guided tour, members walked past the vegetable garden to the pasture where a flock of sheep were being guarded by two llamas.  The Inn’s animal caretaker kindly passed out llama kibble to the members who then got to hand feed them.  What an unexpected ending to an absolutely splendid day!
