March 22 - 23, 2022 - Ikebana Classes at Culpeper High School

Members of the Culpeper Garden Club recently met with students in Ellie Daney’s horticulture and design classes at Culpeper High School to offer a class in Ikebana, the Japanese art of floral arranging.

On March 22, Linda Taylor, a member of the garden club, led horticulture students in a hands-on class which resulted in 20 individual interpretations of Taylor’s Ikebana arrangement.  The following day, 22 design students participated in the class, all with remarkable results.  The 42 high school students were all highly engaged in the activity and were assisted by 16 garden club members over the course of two days..

Ms Taylor is a National Garden Club Master Flower Judge, is certified by the Ohara School of Japanese Arranging and is a respected landscape design consultant.
