New in 2023, the Culpeper Garden Club participated in the Culpeper Downtown Farmer's Market. Club members generously donated plants and divisions from their gardens in exchange for financial donations to their scholarship fund. The scholarships are awarded to outstanding Culpeper County high school graduates that choose to continue their education in horticulture or agricultural sciences at community college, colleges or universities.
The last market day of the 2023 season was a rainy one but that did not dampen the spirits of the "Hardcore Farmer's Market Crew" from the club. They were on site from the crack of dawn until the closing bell at Noon, every other Saturday April through October. The stall attracted new and seasoned gardeners and they developed a regular following. In addition to acquiring locally grown cut flowers, perennials and shrubs raised by club gardeners, patrons left with planting advice from the very knowledgeable club members.
